The Vero Beach Devil Rays have seem to have fallen into a rut and are struggling to climb out of it. 1-9 in their last ten in which an eight game losing streak was snapped after getting swept 4 straight by both the Tampa Yankees and the Dunedin Blue Jays.
Sure the Blue Jays are plowing their way through the entire league in the second half of the season (21-6). However, it's the Cubs and the Mets that continue to win ball games in the east. The Devil Rays have not been the same since both David Price and Jeremy Hellickson moved to the double A level in Montgomery.
Lakeland took game three of the series and now move ahead 2 games to 1 in this four game series with the finale on Wednesday night. As fate would have it, Wednesday is another dollar night at Holman. - I am originally from the great lake state of Michigan. I was born and raised in Trenton, Michigan which is about 25 minutes south of Detroit by highway. I grew up loving the Detroit Tigers and listening to the call on the radio by the lengendary voice of Ernie Harwell. As a matter of fact Ernie was my very first interview during my senior year in high school. I am married to the love of my life in which I met when I was just 15 years old. I have always wanted to be involved with sports broadcasating and have even dabbled in the acting field a little. My first time on a movie set was in a film titled Apt Pupil. Nothing major and in fact if you blink you might miss me. My short lived television commercial career was with Ford. I shot three different commercials for the Ford Focus when it first arrived on the scene in 2000. They even let me speak! My downtime is spent with my wife and our jack russell terrier, Brutus. We love the beach and who knows, maybe one day I will actually utilize the surfboard that is collecting dust in my garage.
