Vero Beach Devil Rays have now gone a full week without a victory. The last win came on Thursday, 7-10 against the Ft. Meyers Miracle with a final score of 12-1. Did the ball club use up all their runs?
The Yankees came into town riding a 10 game losing streak and snapped that with a 4 game sweep of the Devil Rays. Heading west for the final time this year, the Dunedin Blue Jays have gotten the better of Vero Beach taking the first two games both by shutouts. 1-0 on Wednesday and a 9-0 bruising on Thursday.
There are two games remaining in the four game series and a chance for the ball club to get some momentum going before heading home to face the Lakeland Flying Tigers for the final time this season. Currently Vero Beach is 5.5 games behind the Daytona Cubs in the east and Dunedin continues to lead the way in the west.
The 7 game homestand begins on Sunday with a 1pm first pitch and Revolutionary night will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd. Following the 4 game series against Lakeland, Vero Beach will welcome in Daytona for 3 games starting Thursday through Saturday. Of course you can hear all 7 games on the Vero Beach Devil Rays radio network.
