Chuck Tiffany and the Vero Beach Devil Rays pitched themselves to a 5-2 victory over the Ft. Meyers Miracle, thanks in part to a 4 run second inning. Tiffany, who missed all of 2007 due to a shoulder injury is starting to look like his 2005 form in which he won a team high 11 games for the Vero Beach Dodgers.
Tiffany also struck out a team high 134 over 110 innings which was a career high. Ryan Owen and Brian Baker pitched 3 innings of scoreless baseball out of the bullpen while Neal Frontz collected save number 19 on the season.
The same two teams go tomorrow night and will meet through Thursday which is part of an 8 game home stand for the Devil Rays. Joey Callender, received our offensive star of the game award thanks to his 2 out 2 rbi double in the second proving to be the game winner.
