Interesting way to end my vacation with the arrival of a tropical storm. My time away was great and I kept up with the ball club each and every night. The Devil Rays were able to pick up a win last night against the Palm Beach Cardinals 2-1 at Roger Dean stadium.
The likelihood that tonights game will be played is slim to none. Tropical Storm Fay is moving in from the south and the eastern seaboard of Florida is beginning to get soaked. Heavy rains are expected to fall throughout the night and into the morning hours. As far as high winds, there has not been a whole lot of talk about that, but I'm sure they will be strong.
Turning our attention to the ball club again, there are only two homestands remaining in the 2008 season. Wednesday through Friday, the Daytona Cubs are in town for their final visit and then the Palm Beach Cardinals close out the year with four games in the final three days. There will be a double header on Friday the 29th which is a make up from earlier in the second half of the season.
One last thirsty Thursday, which is this week August 21st. Fans get to enjoy dollar beers all night long or until the 7th inning that is. Keep an eye on the official website of the Vero Beach Devil Rays which is www.vbdrays.com as well as my blog for continued updates on Tropical Storm Fay.
